Altek Unveils Drone Vision Processing Solution Powered by Qualcomm Chipsets
Altek (3059.TW), a global leader in AI vision solutions, showcased its advanced drone vision processing solution at the 2025 Taipei Aerospace & Defense Technology Exhibition (TADTE). The solution integrates vision platforms, chipsets, lenses, and algorithms to deliver more efficient and effective drone-based visual processing.
On display were Altek’s 3D obstacle avoidance module, the proprietary AL6100 vision chipset, and a thermal imaging reconnaissance lens for drones. These components are enhanced by Altek’s AI Super Resolution algorithm, which significantly improves image resolution, extending detection range and accuracy for drones. Traditional infrared (IR) lenses rely on thermal imaging for nighttime reconnaissance but are often costly. Altek’s algorithm reduces the hardware requirements for drone lenses, thereby lowering overall system costs.
Altek’s in-house developed AL8100 image processing chipset enables edge processing directly on the drone’s camera, eliminating the need to transmit data back to a central processing platform — the “brain” of the drone — for computation. This greatly reduces the computational load on the central system.
As a Qualcomm partner, Altek also presented a system-on-module (SOM) vision platform built around the Qualcomm QRB5165 processor, designed specifically for drone and robotics applications.

Altek also achieved AS9100 certification this year for aerospace and defense industry quality management systems.
